Sweet, sweet Parker!

Could this sweet little 5 week old baby BE any more good natured?  Snuggling with her was the best.

The Sattler Boys

Going into this session I was excited, thinking they'd be so much easier than toddlers.....

Ha!

It was SO MUCH FUN, though.  They are cuh-ray-zee!

Getting them all to look at you and smile?  Good luck!

Brenda & Jerry have their hands full!  And I think I might have traumatized them by taking them to Deep Ellum. They were cracking me up!  I love them, though.  I've watched them grow up over the years into fantastic, but silly, young men.

Can she do it? Yes, she can!

But will she for a video camera?  Of course not.

She's been doing it for a few days now, and can make it pretty much across the living room.  Mostly when we aren't expecting or coaxing or paying any attention.

Here's the closest thing I have to evidence that my itty bitty is a walker!

Oh, and a drama queen.

Wordless Wednesday

Sara, take two!

Well, she still didn't smile for me - but she at least didn't seem angry with me this time.  You can see her dimple!!  Isn't that the sweetest thing EVER??

I love her.

The Orton family...

It's a toss up who is yummier, Hudson or Parker.  In fact, I'm so undecided that I'm going back this Tuesday to take some more of Parker (it was just too cold to do it on the morning we did the family shots).

Aren't they ADORABLE???  Such a fun family!  Thanks, Christian and Erin, for letting me follow Hudson all over the place.  It was a blast!

What's that saying about the running chicken and it's head?

... because honestly, I feel like I'm too busy to even come up with it.

I haven't blogged in what feels like ages (other than about Charlotte being so sick), simply because I have been swamped - in a good way!  My day job has had me jumping (I still work from home, 20 hours a week in a corporate-type gig), Charlotte's been working, we've had a million and one family projects underway, I have a one year old who is B-U-S-Y... and to top it off, I've been doing sessions and scheduling sessions nonstop, it seems!  Such a blessing.  I don't think that it's a coincidence that my lifelong dream of starting my business is coming to fruition at the same time as Jason being out of work... really, it's the only way it could happen.  He's been so great about taking over baby-duty when I have to run to a session, or when I'm up all hours of the night editing...

Speaking of editing - I know I have several people/families waiting on their images, and they're coming!  I'm still slow, and refining my 'style'....  Thank you for your patience, though.  I have two more family sessions this weekend, and two newborn sessions next week - and my goal is to have everything edited and out before we head to Mexico on the 16th.

Ahhhhh.... Mexico.  How I love thee.  My dad is going to be home from Iraq for a few weeks, and decided to rent a house in Playa del Carmen for two weeks.  We have reward miles to cover almost all of our airfare - so we're going to join them for a week.  Hopefully Charlotte will be walking then because walking on the sand sounds much more pleasant than crawling on the sand.  The house has high-speed internet access, though, so I'll be able to work my day job poolside.  Sweet!

As for Charlotte's triple-threat-germ-warfare...  she's better.  She's no longer exhibiting any symptoms of illness, other than a lingering bit of gunky-lungs that you can hear once or twice a day.  They said that can hang on for weeks, though.  RSV IS THE DEVIL!

In other business news, I have a name - and I almost have a logo (my sweet super artsy friend, Rachel, has mocked up one that I love!)...  I have my pricing structure established, my relationship with a printer I trust established, my website in the early-stages-of-progress, my portfolio just about done and inquiries coming in!  I've even had several moms-to-be approach me about doing their births.  Awesome.

So here are some that I delivered today....  Jason & I love Chris and Melissa, but  their sweet babies, Benjamin and Emily, make me laugh harder than just about anyone.  I feel priviledged that they chose to make the investment on family portraits with me...

I'd like to make mention that yes... those are their REAL eyes.  Stunning!  I kind of worry that they almost look over processed in the black and white conversions... but those are really how they are!

And did you guys know that Benjamin has a band and is going to be a rock star when he grows up?  He gave me a performance I will not soon forget!  Seriously.  If I had a lighter, I would totally have had it in the air.

Alright... off to finish up another batch!
